My name is Daniel. I was an English teacher in Seoul, South Korea, and now I am a writer who has
published three books including South Korea: Our Story by Daniel Nardini.
I have my own personal story about how bad and nasty United Airlines is. I used this
airline to go visit my family in Tampa, Florida, in the United States. I was having heart trouble and I had to be
hospitalized for it. I have only praise for the staff, doctors and nurses at Tampa General Hospital, and am
grateful for all they did for me. I called United Airlines to tell them that because I was having a serious
medical problem that I could not get on my flight, and I needed to reschedule my flight. The United staff were
very, very rude and basically told me to go f--k off. Eventually I booked on Delta airlines. It was to put it
mildly very upsetting how United Airlines treated me. Now I count myself lucky. The way they treated an
innocent man named David Dao was barbaric. I have NO kind words for United Airlines using brute force
against a paying passenger who had been cleared and should have been allowed to go to his final
destination. I do NOT excuse any wrong-doing in my own country, and I feel for this guy who was so
badly treated by this airline. I made a promise back then to never fly United again, and now I am sticking
more to that promise than ever. No amount of force should ever have been used against someone who
did not pose a threat to this or any airplane. I hope that United is hit with a major lawsuit and loses as
much money as possible. All I can say is that we all need to have some basic rights and protections
when we fly from one destination to the next.
